Sun Venture buys first hotel, Hyatt Place London City East

Singapore-based investment firm, Sun Venture, has bought the Hyatt Place London City East hotel.

The former office turned 280-key hotel in Aldgate, is Sun Venture, first hotel purchase. The seller is Resolution Property., which was advised by the JLL agency.

The hotel will continue to be managed by Cycas Hospitality.

The Hyatt Place London City East is on the Net Zero pathway to the CRREM (Carbon Risk Real Estate Monitor) tool, which sets out the asset’s carbon reduction performance in line with the Paris Agreement.

The hotel opened in 2021 with BREEAM Excellent certification and has since received numerous accolades, including the Gold AirRated, Platinum SHe Travel Club, and Gold ActiveScore awards. In 2023, it also won the prestigious ‘AHEAD’ award for sustainability, organised by the Sleeper awards platform for Hospitality Experience and Design.
